Set in 2020, and focused mainly on how an evil corporation has drugged the majority of its citizens with a device called ‘the dream machine’, residents are choosing to live in their made-up fantasies as a result of being in a drug-induced coma. Whether you’ll want to do that is a different matter entirely.īuy Dreamfall Chapters now from Amazon UK | A port of the PC version released episodically last year, this is every entry squeezed into one and now playable on your console. But there is always the possiblity even if it is unlikely at present.Available on PC, PS4 (version tested) and Xbox Oneĭreamfall Chapters is simultaneously both a wonderful throwback to the adventure games of yesteryear, and also a reminder that, in 2017, you probably need a little more refinement in your approach when handling that genre. RTG is not planning any further games in the franchise and it is doubtful that Funcom will revive the franchise. Remember when baby Saga scratched the floor and her mother told her she must not "hurt" the house and that the house would take care of them?Īnd remember Saga's father stating that the House would bring Saga's mother back if she got into trouble while traveling?Ĭlearly the house is an nexus of powerful forces and has some conscienceness to care for its inhabitants.īut alas we will probably never know much more than that. There are several references to the house being alive or having a soul. Saga's family appears to be one of those.Īnd yes, the House of All Worlds is another mystery. I read a comment from one of the developers that stated that they left some questions unanswered since it wasn't possible to answer them all. Saga said that the house was suppose to take care of itself, the way I interpreted it was that the house was self sustaining. There is a clue about the nature of the house. I'm surprised they didn't answer those questions but maybe its meant for a new game (which would be great). I was really curious about her mother and her uncle as well. We have no information about the House or those that live there. But both of those theories turned out to be false or at least not confirmed. There was much speculation that Saga's mother was one of the Draic Kin or that her father was Westhouse. Just like the origin of Saga's parents and her "Uncle" Galath. I'd be curious to know exactly where the house is and the origin of it.ĭefinitely a mystery that was not answered by DFC. This element could make a entirely different story arc in the TLJ world. Maybe thats why it is called the house of all worlds, because everything connects there. Remember how she always says, "that's how the story goes and that's what was written." This along with her journeys is how she gets her information. As for Saga knowing everyting, she has the 13 Volumes of the Balance that were written by Galath. Perhaps someone who is more of an expert on the first game might have better ideas. There are other things said such as the worlds must rejoin eventually which they apparaently did through 'the war of balance'. This might be the whole spiral thing again. We also dont really learn how exactly saga can see the future / prophecy. I believe saga mentions time is like a spiral, and people seem to be reborn so it can be posited that saga is somehow April since they have similar abilities and saga has her memories. Ragnar has talked about another possible game called “The Longest Journey Home" which would continue April Ryan's story and likely provide answers but he recently said it will probably never happen.
